How can I help the sexual minority of college students (LGBTQIA+) in order to relieve sexual repression through improvisation?
WHAT:
What is the subject or area that you intend to research?
The area I intend to research is improvisation associated with LGBTQIA+.
What is the precise question that you will be addressing?
What precise question I need to address is that sexual minorities of university students (LGBTQIA+) struggle to escape and release the stress, anxiety, and other problems caused by sexual repression.
This research aims to investigate how art therapy can enable college students who are sexual minorities (LGBTQIA+) in order to escape and release the stress, anxiety, and other problems caused by sexual repression.

WHY:
Why will this research be of value to you – and the world?
In most countries, LGBTQIA+ people are not included in the traditional sex education system and related materials are not explored. It is this research that not only improves social morality and ethics issues but also effectively avoids sexual offenses and other problems through timely sex education and counseling. For my own part, as one of the LGBTQIA+ members, this study is also more conducive to developing de-stigmatization and identity issues from the perspective of stigmatization and identity, which most youths are mentioned in a more negative way. Finally, the physical and mental health aspects contribute to the prevention of sexual and mental diseases. Besides, We can take preventive measures by strengthening art therapy methods and significantly reducing the incidence of sexual and mental illnesses which are beneficial for both physical and emotional health.
In most countries, LGBTQIA+ people are not included in the sex education system. It is this research that improves social ethics issues through improvisation. Zwerling pointed out that theater is currently the only effective way to address youth issues. His article mentioned that by participating in dramas, the dropout rate caused by depression dropped significantly from 30% to 3%, LGBTQ+ youth Improved their public speaking skills, and the participation rate increased steadily for four consecutive years. As for me, This study also contributes to addressing issues of identity and stigma, which most youths are mentioned more negatively. Finally, Some data suggests that nearly two-thirds of students report feeling unsafe and repressed at school because of their sexual orientation, and more than a third feel that because of their gender expression.
HOW:
How will you accomplish your project in practical terms?
Firstly, I will research primary and secondary sources to provide a theoretical basis for my intervention, as well as the feasibility and development potential of the project. Secondly, I will analyze the data I have collected and the ideas of other researchers and develop my own intervention program, taking into account my own past learning background and personal experiences. For example, drawing therapy, play therapy, drama therapy, and other specific approaches and programs. Thirdly, find stakeholders for your project, conduct interviews, and interventions, and give feedback. Finally, collect and collate the information and data you have obtained and analyze it to draw conclusions.
Firstly, I will research relevant sources and develop the intervention and potential of the project. For example, a game for the liberation of nature, a specific room for my stakeholders, and using masks and make-up tools to ensure the privacy of participants. Secondly, I will analyze the information and ideas, taking into account my personal experiences and try to find a holding space with some etiquette and boundaries for my project. Compared to painting and music, improvisation does not require painting materials or instruments. And improvisation is short-term and does not cause additional anxiety due to the long-term preparation. Thirdly, test the beginning project, then adjust, iterate and update it. Besides, finding stakeholders for the project, conducting interviews, and interventions, and giving feedback. Finally, collect the information and data you have obtained and analyze it to conclude the intervention.
What will be your methodology, management strategy, and schedule?
ReseaThe methodology of the study will use questionnaires, primary and secondary research, interviews, and documentaries as evidence for my intervention. The management strategy of the study will use SWOT analysis to analyze the feasibility and challenges of the study. For time management a Gantt chart is used to manage and plan the time spent on the project.
WHAT IF:
What are the positive implications and potential if you achieve this mastery?
If I achieve this mastery, I can let more minorities be concerned, not only with LGBTQIA+ groups but also with other minorities. Secondly, let more people have an objective and correct understanding.
Secondly, in line with some political contexts and power systems, it offers a new possibility for the use of art therapy to alleviate anxiety and sexual repression in some sexual minority groups.
If I achieve this mastery, I can let more minorities be concerned, not only with LGBTQIA+ groups but also with other minorities. Secondly, let more people have an objective and correct awareness and give more people ways to understand themselves and release repression. Then, using improvisation and play to alleviate the anxiety and sexual repression of some sexual minorities.
How will this position you (and your stakeholders) at the end of the Course?
As stakeholders, both participants and researchers, we are people working together in concert wanting to make a difference, and we are trying to define ourselves as we explore the path of LGBTQIA+ issues. Using action research and intervention to build connections with them.
