How can art improvisation be used to alleviate sexual repression for young LGBTQIA+ Chinese people in the UK?
Introduction
The area I intend to research is improvisation associated with LGBTQIA+ communities. This research investigates how improvisation can enable this group to alleviate anxiety and repression. What precise question I need to address is the sexual minorities of young Chinese people (LGBTQIA+) problems caused by sexual repression.
Research
Focus on Fact
Cause more about why
This issue relates to my gap because traditional methods of expression can no longer meet the psychological needs of young people with the current dramatic changes in the social environment. And young people need to ease the repression that impacts their mental health. They also prefer visual and vivid expressions.
Issues relative to my research include the problems caused by sexual repression among young minorities from the LGBTQIA+ communities. For example, some young people have negative and suppressed feelings toward sex. Besides, they also have some moral confusion about it.
Sexual repression occurs when a person prevents themselves from feeling and experiencing natural sexual urges and desires. And it is also a shame on talking about sex because of different culture backgrounds.
My research demonstrates that the impact this repression can have on their mental well being is far reaching. Marshal et al. (2011) reported that LGBTQIA+ young people are probably three times more at risk of mental health problems than others. Besides, research into the issue can help them to de-stigmatize and build
their self-confidence.
I discovered that many prefer visual and vivid expressions.Johnson (1999) argued that creative arts therapy and expressive art therapy had been the most widely emphasized that the principle of difference between them weakens as practice. Expressive art therapy gives more prominence to method and process.. Yu Li (2014) also believed
that Expressive Art Therapy has a cathartic effect on young people and alleviates depression. These primary and secondary studies serve as critical evidence and a direct link between the current theoretical basis and social issues.

Research Methodologies
- Interventions
- Stakeholders
The audience I chose for my intervention was young Chinese LGBTQIA+ people who live in the UK between the ages of 20 and 35. I decided on these stakeholders for my intervention because this age group is the most active in an online social media interaction. This minority is also the group with the highest emotional and social needs in foreign countries. There is also a need for sexual repression alleviated and catharsis. Not only are they often also the most neglected as sexual minorities, but they are also the representatives of other sexual minorities.

Summarize
As far as I am concerned, in the theories and literature I have read, there is often a gap between our views and imagination and the reality of the project. When I receive feedback from stakeholders, tutors, and experts, I need to identify which comments I should take on board.
